To facilitate your admission into Universities in Canada, a minimum of 3.0/4.0 GPA is usually required for Masters and PhD programs. For undergraduate programs, an “above average” score (as it relates to your previous school’s grading system) will suffice.
The score you require on any language or academic test will depend on several factors; the type of immigration procedure you require (education vs employment ) and if academic, the specific school you would be applying to. This is because Universities set their own score levels for each test. You may not even need to take an academic language test at all if it’s not required for your specific program of study.
YES. A lot of Universities offer fully funded tuition for research based Masters and PhD SCIENCE programs. Course based programs such as business and management are more restrictive when it comes to availability of funding . At the undergraduate level, there are a few scholarships (full and partial) available to international students with exceptional academic credentials.
The main difference would be the fact that immigration consultants obtain their expertise both through work experience and education( 3 semesters post-graduate degree in immigration studies), whereas immigration lawyers usually develop their skill sets “on the job”. This is because although they spent 3 years in law school, they only took just one or two courses in immigration studies.
